Though most of the visitors to Omodos flock towards the central square of the village, it should be noted that the picturesque alleyways of the village are also certainly worth perusing. It is in one of these little streets that one will come across a hidden gem of a tavern, which welcomes visitors into a true, family environment.

Themistocles’ Courtyard is located among the traditional homes of the village, and offers visitors a traditional Cypriot meal and warm hospitality. The menu includes a variety of meze dishes that vary by season. Homemade meatballs are among the dishes that are always a hit, and every meal is perfectly accompanied by local wine or Commandaria.

The large tree that grows in the middle of the courtyard, spreading its branches over the tables, is a trademark of the tavern, and creates a pleasant atmosphere that is reminiscent of a traditional village. Besides the grand tree, visitors are also enamored with the homemade ‘loukoumades’ which are usually offered as dessert.
