"Super Moon" in Limassol: Get ready for the biggest moon since 1948

The largest full moon will rise in Limassol on Monday, November 14th 2016, and the city is preparing to welcome it as it should. This phenomenon occurs every 70 years (the last such full moon rose in 1948) and this full moon of November 14th will be 30% brighter and 14% greater.

The moon will be visible to the naked eye from all over Cyprus and a good time for observation will be during its rise, at the time when the sun goes down. The full moon will start peeping low on the horizon and it will be comparable to the buildings that surround it, according to experts. The public in Limassol can enjoy a super bright full moon from the dock at the Old Port in Limassol where all kinds of romantics, artists, photographers and lovers of the moon's mesmerizing power will gather together.

The "Super Moon", as people call it, is a terminology which is not scientific, but NASA says it will now adopt it, after enjoying the wide recognition of the world.
