Pelendri is a village with distinct natural beauty, nestled deep in the woods. The lush greenery that surrounds it appears to have been the root of its name. The village locals have kept the origins of its name to this day, perpetuating its tradition through the names that they give the various locations and businesses of the village. One of these businesses is the tavern Polydentri.

The name of the tavern is derived from one of the versions of the name Pelendri, which indicate that it is surrounded by dense forests (‘polla’ (many) + ‘dentra’ (trees) = Polydentri). It is a traditional little tavern, found just a few meters from the stone-built Community Council building and the park which honors the village heroes. The tavern boasts a warm and cozy space, adorned with elements of local folk tradition, and welcomes visitors for characteristic dishes of Cypriot cuisine and delicious meze of local produce.

During the winter months, the large, iron stove is lit from midday until late at night, filling the space with its unique warmth. When the weather starts to warm up, the terrace, with its thick canopy of shading vines and multitude of flowers and ornamental plants, is an ideal choice for a cool, relaxing meal in nature.
