Lilliputian audience ‘inaugurated’ Patticheion Municipal Theatre

The renovated Patticheion Municipal Theatre in Limassol hosted its first audience, opening its doors for the first time after almost 10 years. Little students filled in the seats to watch a day show of the play “Petro’s Great Walk” which is staged this year by THOC, remaking the infamous novel by Alki Zei.

Patticheion Municipal Theatre will host its first evening show on Saturday, November 12th 2016, presenting a spectacular tribute to the great Greek perfomer Marinella.

Check out information about the Marinella Tribute at All About Limassol Agenda.

The theatre’s official opening will be on November 25th, performed by the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades. On the same day a short performance by the city’s artistic groups will take place.

Patticheion Municipal Theatre’s renovation cost was 10 million euro, of which only 1 million was payed by the Limassol Municipality, since the funding came from development funds. The renovation has preserved the original form of the historic building, which was constructed in 1945 by its owners and operated for several years as the “Pallas” cinema.
