Irinis Street – Where time stops

* NOTE: All the tributes of All About Limassol (as the Official Guide of Limassol) aim to ONLY highlight the special aspects of this wonderful city, so that everyone can be aware of the exceptional options they offer. Under no circumstances do they have any promotional or nominal value, and they do not serve the interests of Companies, Municipalities, Organizations or Individuals.

Irinis street is a road of daily use for Limasolians and there it seems as if time has stopped. Fortunately the street has been early declared as a listed street and its today one of the few neighborhoods which maintains its original architecture character. It used to be the neighborhood of wealthy traders from the villages of Marathasa and Pedoulas.

It’s amazing how older images of the street are extremely similar to the present photos. At the end of the road one can see the Araucaria tree, representative tree of Limassol which will extinguish soon if not protected.
