Governors’ Beach

It is justifiably one of the most famous beaches in Cyprus and has been awarded the Blue Flag for its clean waters. Governors’ Beach is a destination that keeps several surprises, enough to move any visitor, no matter what they are looking for: relaxation, contact with nature, exercise, entertainment, food and drinks.

The beach is located within the community of Pentakomo village, which is located 20 km east of Limassol. It is a beach in an easy distance from all 3 districts, Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia, which makes it an ideal option for sea lovers from any direction. The diversity provided in each of the 3 main golfs, from Palm Beach on the east side to Sofroniou Beach on the western end, as well as smaller coves, hidden in the white cliffs, can host both the ones looking for a cosmopolitan scenery and the ones who prefer more quiet corners.

The white, chalk-like cliffs, are one of the main reasons for a visit in the area. Carved by the waves, the rocks are turned into huge, white platforms on the water, suitable for sunbathing, exploration and diving into the blue sea. At the eastern end of the coast, the beach has somewhat of an exotic look, with its fine, golden sand meeting the crystal waters.

Do not miss out on the opportunity to watch at least 1 sunset or sunrise over the white hills — the view is truly spectacular. If you happen to attend one of the beach parties taking place during the summer months, you will certainly enjoy both the rising and setting course of the sun!

The area is easily accessible (there is a signed exit from the highway to Governors’ Beach and then there are signs to each one of the restaurants and beach bars operating in each one of the golfs) and has a wide variety of water sports, dining and accommodation options, among which a camping site, too. Lifeguards are on duty from 11:00 to 18:00.
