The seminar 'Disinformation Battles: The tools to fight it in the Digital Era' is organized by the NGO Cypriot Enteprise Link and the CyprusInno within the fraamework of Lead Cyprus and addresses people who work in the fields of communications, pulses, journalism, politics and the computers, as well as any active citizen who wants to be informed on how not to be a victim of disinformation.

The seminar consists of 4 different workshops:

1st workshop: Telling a story -or even propaganda- through data visualization, Demetris Trihinas - UNIC

2nd workshop: Social media and the problem of fake news and hate-speech, Demetris Paschalides - University of Cyprus

3rd workshop: Towards Understanding the Spread of Memes and Disinformation by State-Sponsored trolls on the Web, Savvas Zanettou - Cyprus University of Technology

4th workshop: Fighting “Everyday Bias” : Thoughtfulness in information access, Kyriakos Kyriakou, Styliani Kleanthous & Jahna Otterbacher - RISE | OUC | CyCAT

The seminar takes place in the facilities of the Cyprus Universiy of Technology, in Tasos Papadopoulos arcade, with the support of the American Tech Camp.
