Decorated Bread Museum “Ploumisto Psomi”

* NOTE: All the tributes of All About Limassol (as the Official Guide of Limassol) aim to ONLY highlight the special aspects of this wonderful city, so that everyone can be aware of the exceptional options they offer. Under no circumstances do they have any promotional or nominal value, and they do not serve the interests of Companies, Municipalities, Organizations or Individuals.

Decorated Bread Museum “Ploumisto Psomi is the only museum of replica bread in Cyprus. It presents the history of bread, its production cycle, ethnological and sociological characteristics and symbolism that decorated bread brings with it.

Visitors of the Decorated Bread Museum find out that bread is more than food. It has also a cultural perspective. It hosts replicas of decorated breads intended as offerings in religious ceremonies and it tells the histories of these breads and how they have been used across the centuries.

Dorita Voskaridou, researcher/writer and creator of the museum, has prepared each replica bread hosted at “Ploumisto Psomi”.
