5 proud Limassol women with the most followers on social media, relate their success to the city!

They are young and beautiful, energetic and strong. They have managed to stand out, each one with her own work, in fashion and media and they are followed by dozens of thousands daily in the social media, both from Cyprus and abroad. But their common beginning is their origin and the great love they have for their home town, Limassol. These fanatic Limassollians have drawn the attention, both for their impressive looks and their and their career achievements, making use of the technology and the social media in a rather smart way.

Image sure is an important part of their job, but it is not the only one. Photos on social media, admired by thousands on a daily basis, are a proof that they have a passion for life and for their jobs, too, they have strength, vitality and an endless tendency to creativity. Without any doubt, this has a lot to do with the city they were born and grew up in. All of them agree that Limassol has something special in its air, something that makes its people just as special, too, and they are definitely a representative case of the mystique of the city.

The new generation of career women in Limassol is not restricted just in the typical image of a suit and a briefcase. These 5 young women, who manage to have a successful career in the field, have chosen an alternative way. The most important part of their success though, something they all admit, is that Limassol has been both a great push for them in their beginning, but it keeps being a source of inspiration for them to keep getting better, while they take every opportunity to showcase the advantages of their place, too.

Constantina Evripidou

She was born and raised in Polemidia. She first chose to study Physical Education in Athens, Greece, but she ended up in Marketing and Communications. She has been a model for important designers and has taken place in international beauty pageants, until the 32-year-old Constantina became one of the most popular TV presenters for entertaining show on TV in Cyprus. She says that she is an eternal fan of Limassol and she won’t miss a chance to spend time in her city, even if her job keeps her away most of the time. She has more than 70.000 followers on instagram and she never misses a chance to upload pictures with the beauties of Limassol on the background.

“I love my city, even just for the air I get to breathe in it, when I come back from my job in Nicosia…

…but for a thousand other reasons, too. One of them is the energy and the vitality of the people in the city. The sea is just 5 minutes away from my place, while the reasons for someone to leave the place are countless. From a walk at the seaside with my daughter, to a visit for coffee of dining at the Castle, a touch of glamour at our beautiful hotels, as well as with the simple, everyday things, this city knows how to charm both friends and foes”.

“I created my account on instagram around 4 years ago, initially because of my passion (or craze, one may say) with photography...

…combined with my need to share ideas and moments with friends. This is what I want to keep doing now, too, even if it has become more like part of my self, after all these years. I do try to control it, though, because real life is not in a mobile application"

“I created my account on instagram around 4 years ago, initially because of my passion (or craze, one may say) with photography…

…combined with my need to share ideas and moments with friends. This is what I want to keep doing now, too, even if it has become more like part of my self, after all these years. I do try to control it, though, because real life is not in a mobile application".

“Everything began with Limassol’s locations for me and this is where everything ends, too…

…when I lack inspiration for creativity through a hard day. A photo can of a location that few people know, like an alley that can excite your curiosity and urge you to explore it”.

“Every moment I spend by the sea and my own people is true inspiration for me to create new, beautiful moments…

What I shoe in my pictures is what I feel and I just make it happen. After that, everything else comes along and Limassol is naturally showcased in my work”.

Andrea Kyriakou

She was born and raised in Limassol, while she also took a degree by the Communication and Internet Studies at the CUT. Studies in journalism, specialized in internet as the new media for promoting companies, actually became a natural extension of what the 27-year-old Andrea does in fashion, since she started posting photos from her favorite place in Limassol early on. Thus, besides notable collaborations in the fashion industry, as well as her participation in popular TV shows, the beautiful girl from Limassol has managed to keep an instagram account with more than 60.000 followers.

“Limassol is now part of my DNA, it is always in my heart…

It is ideal for a walk in the old town and the seaside, right by the waves. There is something magical in this city, which, no matter where I have been, cannot be found anywhere else. When I am in Limassol I do so much better with work and I can go through double the load than I usually do. I always feel more familiar and more serene at my base.”

“I created my instagram account in 2012. It was part of my studies…

… to research any new social medium. I was an active user since the very first moment, when most Cypriots had not joined it yet, so I did have followers from before, because it was not just any inactive page. Since I was already modelling, I did have photos to post and those interested in fashion would follow”

“The photo’s background is important for the engagement a photo receives…

…and sometimes its role is crucial. Our Marina and the seaside park are very photogenic, so I think that they do help when you take a photo”.

“I don’t feel that I have to promote Limassol through what I do…

… it is just something that comes naturally. When you love you city, you will make it part of your work“.

Eleana Nicolaou

She was born and raised in Limassol, where she now keeps her own boutique. Before working in fashion, she took her degree in European Studies, at Panteion University, and continued with a masters’ degree in International Affair in London, where she started focusing on her love for fashion, by taking classes in fashion design. Today, Eleana is one of the most influencial Limassolians on instagram, with more than 20,000 followers.

“I love the sea, the morning walks, the smell of it, the energy I get from it…

It relaxes me, it clears my mind. I cannot imagine my life without the sea by my side. Also, Limassol has everything: good food, beautiful people and nightlife”.

“I posted my first photo on instagram in 2013. It was from the first collection I had designed…

I believe that social media and instagram in particular, have a great part in communication and they are now among the most powerful means for advertising products and services. This is one of the main reasons that urged me to create an account”.

“It feels great to be able to communicate with people. I receive many messages on a daily basis…

…with questions and comments about the dresses that I design. The positive energy I get is valuable.”

“We are blessed to live in Limassol. The beauty of this place is indescribable…

… and a picture in a beautiful place always has more engagement”.

“I want to promote my city and I do it almost on a daily basis…

These past few years, there are things happening that have made it even more attractive for locals, as well as tourists that visit. I have hosted many friends in Limassol and they have all loved it”.

Thelxia — Valeria Frangoudes

The 26-year0old Valeria was born and raised in Limassol and she firmly declares to be one of the most enthusiastic lovers of the city. After all, it rare to find a picture of hers on instagram, where Limassol is not featured in the context. She did not study anything related to what she has been focusing these past few years, but 20+ thousands of followers on her instagram account would probably agree that she manages very well. And since she believes that Limassol allows her to feel better and make important decisions, one would easily understand why does the city have a leading role in her pictures.

“I studied Public and Business Administration at the University of Cyprus…

…and then I had my Chartered Accountant certificate. I work in an auditors firm and at the same time I run our own businesses (Ermarolla Stylebar, The ponytails Series, blogging and Cakebar 113)”.

“What I love the most in Limassol is the sea, my daily walks by the waves, the route that I follow to go to work…

…every morning. I love Limassol people’s culture just as much. I think that people are more positive, more genuine and maybe that’s what makes them more real”.

“I always prefer to take photos in outside areas, at the city’s alleys, on the beach…

Limassol inspires me. All of these important decisions about our businesses were taken on the beachside and this cannot be a coincidence”.

“I never expected to have so many followers, neither have I ever striven to achieve this. The goal has always been to promote our work…

…through photos, not the number of likes and followers. Maybe this is why people actually like us, because they know what is real and what is not”.

“An interesting setting does help with a post’s engagement. The sea or a beautiful landscape are always more appealing in the eye…

A photo on a white wall maybe necessary some times, but when it happens too often, it is not attractive to the followers of your profile. This is why we are grateful to live here, since Limassol does help us with all these amazing landscapes”.

“I feel very content when people sends messages on instagram to ask about the locations…

…(especially then they questions come from other cities or even other countries). We would feel great to contribute in this way to the effort of attracting tourists or even future permanent residents in our city, as well as on our island in general”.

Andrea Frangoudes

Born and raised at the Limassol city center, the 29-year-old Andreana Frangoudes is a true Limassolian, totally in love with her city, which is something you can tell by the first look in her social media, where she usually posts pictures from her favorite spots in the city. “My studies are in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus and  I have a masters’ degree in Project Management…

Right now I do business with my cousin Thelxia – Valeria in Ermarolla Stylebar, The ponytails Series, blogging and Cakebar 113”.

“I feel that in Limassol, besides the natural beauty, people also have a different attitude, a different air

Here, I feel more relaxed, more free, more me. Also, I did notice that an interesting landscape in Limassol can help with a post’s engagement in social media. The background is important for a post, thus such a beautiful place can influence one immediately”.

“I work with instagram for the past 5 years. It first started because of the Ermarolla Stylebar…

The shop is all about fashion and instagram was a great way to promote our products. Later on, this evolved as a personal diary for our daily routines. The result seems to be welcomed by other companies, too, who now wants to collaborate with us to promote their products on social media”.

“Sure, I do get inspiration from Limassol. The shop and the showroom are located in the heart of the old city…

…thus, most of our photos are inspired and based on its particular beauty. Also, the seaside is a favorite destination, too, for relaxing moments or exercising, resulting to many photos taking place there”.

“I never expected to have so many followers on instagram. My profile is my personal diary…

…I just post daily moments from work, walking, trips etc. I guess the content is interesting to others, too”.

“I love this city so much that I would try to promote as much as I can…

I wish I could showcase its beauty as much as possible through my posts”.

Their urge to turn into action all of their fresh ideas, seems to fit perfectly with the prevailing atmosphere in this city, which keeps changing, and growing even more beautiful by the day. They feel blessed for it, they consider themselves lucky and they are proud to live in Limassol. But the most important thing is that they do seize every opportunity for them to grow along with it. Thus, day by day, inspired by the blues of the sea, the manage to make their dreams come true, hoping that one day they may see their own footprint in Limassol’s progress, too.
